Our Mission

Avenues Montreal empowers out-of-high-school youth by connecting them to community and public support services through innovative, youth-centered, and care-driven case-management approaches. We support youth in recognizing their strengths, resources, and aspirations, and in building trust-based connections to existing services that support meaningful community engagement.

Every youth, without exception, deserves access to services centered on care and community.

Our Vision

We integrate experiential and informal learning into our case management, holding one-on-one sessions in cafes, markets, libraries, and other community spaces. This approach makes support more accessible while encouraging participants to explore neighborhoods and connect with local services.

Our Values & Approach

We ground our work in mutual recognition, placing care, respect, and esteem at the core. Through meaningful relationships, we help youth access community and public services via mentorship, workshops, and community-building activities.

We use Community Asset Mapping, a participatory, strength-based model of community development that identifies existing assets—people, places, and organizations—as foundations for growth. Participants work with our youth facilitator to create personalized maps, helping them recognize and build on their community’s strengths.

  •  Increase participation of marginalized youth in community activities and support services.

  •  Equip youth with the skills and resources necessary for personal and professional growth.

  • Facilitate the formation of meaningful relationships among youth and existing services in their community.
