Avenues empowers out-of-high school youth with diverse aspirations by accompanying them through the process of discovering and connecting with Montreal’s rich community resources, and cultivating their autonomy, confidence, and well-being.

At Avenues, we facilitate connectedness between youth and community organizations that specialize in well-being, education and employment.

We nurture meaningful relationships founded in care and trust in order to develop individualized, strength-based roadmaps of opportunities.

Our Approach

Our Programs

  • AVENUES CONNECT is our flagship program. It is based on a holistic approach to education, youthwork and case management. It is modeled after the Wraparound planning process, a recognized and proven approach to youth care that has shown to offer real hope in helping young adults with complex needs access support services.

  • AVENUES COMMUNITY offers group workshops and outings that are essential for participants enrolled in the Connect program, while also welcoming newcomers. These sessions combine skills-based workshops with exploratory activities and are subject to change based on the needs of the youth participants.

  • AVENUES OUTREACH is our way of building bridges with targeted schools and engaging potential youth participants. Our youth facilitator supports existing after-school activities. This is accomplished in partnership with key public alternative schools. Previous examples of support include afterschool cooking, fitness workshops and basketball.
