The facilitator works directly with youth and community organizations to deliver our programming. 

  • The youth facilitator’s tasks include, but are not limited to: 

    • Meet one on one with participants 

    • Maintain regular contact/communication with participants 

    • Maintain program case management databases and assist with program expense tracking and report preparation

    • Take a strength-based approach with each participant and adapt programming to their unique needs and interests

    • Assist participants with goal tracking 

    • Facilitate introductory meetings with youth and community resources 

    • Network and uphold relationships with community organizations 

    • Coordinate and support community outings and community building activities 

    • Participate in team meetings with facilitators and executive co-directors 

    • Report to the co-executive directing team 

    • Ensure program delivery protects participant and community safety 

    • Ability to work independently and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills  

    • Committed to continuous growth and development of professional skills and knowledge 

    • Ability to motivate clients to set long-term and short-term goals 

    • Demonstrated ability to creatively facilitate, with a well-developed set of techniques to accommodate various learning needs  

    • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with the participants, team, and community partners 

    • Ability to build constructive, trusting, and safe relationships with youth. 

    • Minimum 3 years experience working with youth or vulnerable populations in a mentorship capacity 

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French 

    • Undergraduate degree in fields related to education, sociology and psychology or a combination of relevant professional and life experiences 

    • Awareness of Montreal’s landscape of community organizations and health-related resources 

    • Interest in exploring Montreal 

    Non-profit experience is not essential, but an asset.  

    Relevant training certificates an asset (i.e. ASSIST/Safe Talk, Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health First Aid) 

  • The ideal candidate would have the flexibility to accommodate a variable schedule with meeting youth in-person. 

    • Freelance contract with part-time flexible hours 

    • Rate: $24 - $28/hour, to be invoiced monthly

    • Hours: 4 – 8 hours a week, monthly max. of 30 hours 

    • Evening and weekend availability 

     As part of the hiring process, a criminal background check will be performed.
